Have you thought about shopping around? People stick with State Farm because they love their agents, but there are a lot better insurance companies out there, and many may actually be cheaper.Heh, stupid me.
We did get a letter from S.F. announcing [our] agent's retirement and account transfer, but it's actually for an agent we switched away from ~5 years ago. It also explains why the transfer *to* agenct is so far from us (he's closer to the old agent).
No lingering relationship with that agent, not sure why we received the transfer letter. Careless of me not to look at the signature line. (In self-defense, I think my wife handed me the letter and said ~"Our State Farm agent is retiring" and I didn't look at it closely enough.)
